Clinical To provide skilled mental health nursing care to people undergoing clozapine or Depot treatment at Ferry view Health Centre, must be phlebotomy trained and able to use the Pochi machine. Must be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with experience to run a Clozapine clinic and liaise with other Multidisciplinary team with the trust and outside the trust.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with treatment-resistant schizophrenia, along with knowledge of other mental health issues. To ensure patients and relatives safety, dignity, and privacy. To make assessment of individuals and implement their care.
Get update about patients in acute crisis and report to the relevant consultants team or allocated CCO. To explain to individuals department and to answer their questions and concerns towards maximizing the benefit of their treatment. To conduct mental state assessment of patients attending the clinic, accommodate and assist in the immediate management of patients in acute crisis and where appropriate to report to the relevant consultant or CCO.
To work with nursing staff, CMHT personnel and psychiatric Social Workers and liaise with other MDT professionals outside the team like General Practitioners, Care Managers, voluntary sector, carers, relatives, and drug and alcohol organisations.
To ensure the multidisciplinary team and other agencies receive information as and when necessary. To record and evaluate all nursing interventions on patients electronic personal files and must be computer literate. To act as an autonomous, registered practitioner who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols.
Carry out administrative tasks as directed including research, audit of the clinic, and make reasonable adjustment where required. Must be flexible, participate in the annual appraisal reviews and demonstrate reflective practice through the Knowledge and Skills Framework.
Professional Ensure all nursing practice is in accordance with the NMCs Code of Professional Conduct and all other relevant advisory documents. Promote the Mental Health Act (1983) and its Code of Practice, ensuring total compliance with the Acts requirements.
