Administrative Assistant (Gap Year Student)
Contract: Fixed term for one academic year
Westminster Under School is seeking two talented and enthusiastic Gap Year Students to join our team for the academic year from September 2025 to July 2026 (term-time only).
Gap Students assist in all areas of the day-to-day running of the School. Reporting primarily to the school Receptionist, successful applicants will be encouraged to take a full and active role in both curricular and extra-curricular activities. Duties will include:
- Providing administrative support and assisting with the operation of the reception area
- Supporting with pupil registration
- Supervision of pupils during break and lunch times
- Providing coaching/support in games, art, drama, or music (strengths can be accommodated)
- Managing lost property and assisting with school trips
- Involvement with extra-curricular activities, such as concerts and plays
We are looking for individuals who embody confidence, maturity, and self-direction, who enjoy working with and engaging with young people. The role may be particularly beneficial for someone who is considering a career in education, though this is not essential.
The typical working day will consist of approximately eight hours between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. This includes all INSET and training days. School lunch is provided at no additional cost each day when on-site, and there is access to the School’s Sports Centre at specific times after school which includes use of the gym.
