The main duties and responsibilities consists of: Working closely with research members to contribute to the delivery of the improvement science research programme. Being responsible for study design, recruitment and data collection and analysis.
Obtaining necessary ethical and governance approvals at project outset. Conduct literature searching. Provide regular progress reports. Writing blogs to help promote the theme and our findings, writing publications (as the lead or a co-author) and other dissemination activities that will help to optimise the impact of our work.
Be involved in grant applications and to supervise more junior staff members. Applying for NHS research ethics committee approval. Qualitative data collection and analysis. Literature searching. Recruitment of participants. Management of data. To engage with colleagues within the Young Peoples Mental Health Research Centre and the Trust Research Innovation team offering advice and guidance as required.
To work effectively with patients, the public and healthcare staff to ensure our research meets the needs of these groups. To be involved with research publications and conference abstracts. To ensure that research governance procedures and GDPR legislation is adhered to.
To enhance the impact of our work through engagement with professional conferences, writing for different audiences, blogs, short course development, etc. To undertake personal development in keeping with the aspiration to be a national leader in health research.

To update the theme manager on project progress and outcomes to enable monitoring for and reporting to the NIHR. Lead on designing projects. To manage and/or mentor more junior staff. To lead on or contribute to funding opportunities.
