Your Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Director to join Fortrea’s Medical Device and Diagnostics Commercial Team. This key position will focus on driving growth and expanding our strategic accounts across Europe. You will play a vital role in building relationships, generating new opportunities, and helping the business grow within this important sector.
As the successful candidate, you will take the lead in creating a robust pipeline of opportunities, fostering relationships with current and potential clients, and collaborating with global teams to turn opportunities into successful partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth and meet sales goals for assigned accounts.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with key clients and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and drive engagement.
- Oversee the creation of compelling proposals tailored to client needs and aligned with our company’s strengths and capabilities.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, growth opportunities, and assess the competitive landscape.
- Represent Fortrea at key industry events and executive meetings to raise our profile and showcase our services.
- Manage and optimize business development activities, including pipeline management, performance analysis, and opportunity tracking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate business development efforts with broader company strategies.
- Lead client presentations and actively contribute to the development of project proposals to deliver comprehensive, client-centered solutions.
- Work closely with the Client Services team to provide input on pricing strategies and assist in margin calculations to meet client and business objectives.
- Ensure accurate documentation of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline forecasting.
- Support team objectives by taking on additional duties as needed to drive success.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- In-depth knowledge of the medical device and diagnostics industry to strategically drive lead generation.
- Strong customer relationship management skills with solid commercial acumen.
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic business plans.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, including experience negotiating directly with major clients.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to present and influence senior executives.
- Strong financial understanding with a proven ability to deliver results in a commercial environment.
- Ability to influence at all levels within the organization and effectively work in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal educational requirements.
Required Experience:
- Extensive background in business development, particularly within the CRO or pharmaceutical industries.
- Proven track record in senior leadership roles focused on business development and strategic client management.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and managing high-value client accounts.
