Assistant Fees Clerk – Legal (0-18 months’ experience)
With over 100 barristers, members are instructed to advise, defend, and prosecute in many of the highest profile and complex cases of the day, some of which have a global reach and attract substantial media attention.
Chambers seeks to appoint a highly suitable individual to the position of Assistant Fees Clerk. This important role is integral to the smooth and efficient running of Chambers.
This role will suit a school leaver/graduate with an interest in finance, or someone with 6-18 months experience in a financial support role in a similar professional environment. The successful applicant must possess a strong team ethic, be able to work using personal initiative and thrive in a very busy environment.They must be keen to continuously develop and take on increased responsibilities as they develop. Working in a dynamic team of three, full training will be provided.
Duties include;- Assisting in the billing and collection of professional fees/invoices
- Inputting fees onto the bespoke Barristers’ CRM and fees system (LEX)
- Dealing with external organisations such as the Legal Aid Authority, CPS and Crown Court Service
- Use reports from the LEX system to find unbilled/unassessed cases
- Chase unpaid debt via telephone and/or email
- Regular Barrister and Client contact
