Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

Job overview

The post holder is required to work within a Multidisciplinary Team - with adults and children with a learning disability and associated complex health needs.

The post holder will be responsible for taking on appropriate assessment of a persons needs and undertaking interventions that aim to improve their quality of life and achieve positive outcomes - -this will include planning how to do this alongside other professionals within the team.

Post holder will provide education, knowledge, guidance and support to student nurses and unqualified staff in the team and provide support to clients and their families.

Experience

  • Experience in learning disability services
Desirable criteria
  • Broad range of experience working in health & social care settings

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Learning Disability, including Mental Health, Forensics, Challenging Behaviour and PLD/Complex. Health.-Awareness of current developments within a clinical setting
  • Completed training in mentoring & Assessing student nurses
Desirable criteria
  • Awareness of current developments within – Learning Disability services
  • • Understanding of clinical governance
