Job overview
Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacy Assistant? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our dynamic pharmacy team at King's Mill Hospital. As a vital part of our Stores and Distribution area, you'll play a key role in ensuring the seamless flow of medications to support patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with clinical pharmacy colleagues on wards to provide an efficient supply service.
- Fulfil orders for wards and departments, both manually and via our state-of-the-art Automated Dispensing Robot.
- Manage all aspects of stock control, including the receipt of medicine requirements for the Trust.
- Operate the Automated Dispensing Robot to store and retrieve stock, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Person specification
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Knowledge of procedures for stores and distribution
- IT skills, including the management of files Accurate keyboard skills
- Knowledge of Automated Dispensing systems
- Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice, to comply with requirements of MHRA Wholesaler dealer’s licence
Qualifications
Essential criteria- GCSE Maths Grade C or equivalent
- GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent
- IT qualification
- NVQ level 2 Pharmacy
Further Training
Essential criteria- In-house training programme, including distribution, goods receipt and returns validations
- In-house Manual Handling training
- In-house training in the handling of cytotoxic spillage
- In-house training in the use of relevant pharmacy computer programs
- Customer care
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of stock control
- Experience of team working
- Ability to work alone
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- Housekeeping skills
- Filing and record keeping
- Customer/patient care
- Pharmacy experience
Contractual
Essential criteria- Flexible approach to working hours
- Regular attendance during the required hours
- Weekend and bank holiday working
