Mental Health Support Worker (Personal Assistant) role
Job reference; DP/LH25Hours: 15 hours per week, 2-3 hours per day (ideally including some weekends, by mutual arrangement to fit in with you)
Rate of Pay: £12.00
Location: Warrington Town Centre (5 min walk from bus station)
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable part-time Mental Health Support Worker to assist a bright and creative 25-year-old woman living with long-standing Complex PTSD and anxiety disorders.
You may not have direct experience of mental health support but will have empathy, understanding and experience of supporting others, be that family, friends or within a previous role -- that's the most important thing.
Having now successfully maintained stability while living in supported housing for a year, she now seeks additional support to help her continue thriving in the community.Our role will be to provide that extra boost each day, whether it’s assisting with daily tasks, offering a listening ear on difficult days, or simply being a reassuring presence.
Her Interests:- Creative writing
- Watching comedy/drama television series
- Listening to music
- Caring for her psychiatric assistance dog-in-training and going with him to training with her
- Going on walks (mood-dependent)
- is empathetic, patient, and a good listener
- has a solid understanding of mental health issues
- has a great sense of humour
- has interest in books, TV and culture
- and has a love for animals, especially dogs
- Providing a reliable, empathetic ear to help regain perspective and calm during tough days
- Assisting with maintaining a to-do list and supporting with household tasks e.g. vacuuming.
- Prompting and assisting with medication management and ensuring help is sought when necessary
- Supporting attendance at community activities such as groups, cinema trips, markets, shopping, walks, and appointments
- Daily walks with her golden retriever, so dog lovers are essential!
Desirable although not required: A valid UK driving licence and access to a car in order to facilitate activities. Free parking.
