Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join the St Helens Wellbeing service - Tier 3 Specialist Weight Management. The post holder will work closely with the Tier 3 delivery team and alongside a range of specialists as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team.They will be involved in the assessment and support of patients as part of a caseload, including those with complex dietary needs, providing high quality evidence based dietetic care including to patients on the Tier 4 bariatric surgical pathway.
Job share would be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a good understanding of managing complex needs of individuals and their holistic health needs. The post holder will implement evidence-based practice, education and behaviour change techniques. Experience of working in a dynamic fast paced environment within a weight management service is desirable.This role is a great opportunity for somebody looking to develop their knowledge and skills as part of an integrated health and wellbeing service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Degree in dietetics
- State registration dietetics registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Masters in dietetics
- Clinical supervisory Skills training for student training
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Sound clinical knowledge of dietetics including nutrition support
- An interest in weight management/ obesity management
- Basic IT skills
- Able to use and risk assess weighing equipment safely
- Reflective Practice
- Behaviour change skills
- Awareness of student training programmes
- Clinical Group work experience
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of clinical dietetic practice including nutrition support
- Experience of working in weight management services
- Experience of working in and contributing to multi-disciplinary teams
- Managing personal dietetic caseload
- Participation in peer support and clinical supervision
- Experience of working in public health services
- Participation of training of others including students/health care professionals
- Developing practice of other dietitians/associate practitioners
