Inspire Young Minds as a Learning Support Assistant!

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our excellent Primary School in Sunderland. If you're passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young adults, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils who are: falling behind and struggling in lessons, exhibiting challenging behaviour and/or have SEN needs, both on a 1:1 basis.
• Manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
• Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to discuss and implement effective strategies and learning activities.
• Prepare resources for lessons to enhance learning experiences.
• Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime as required.
• Engage actively with pupils, forming positive rapport and encouraging their learning.

Key Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service; we can process a new one if necessary).
• A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred, but not essential.
• Strong ability to build relationships and rapport with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive, and positive nature to handle challenges effectively.
• Experience in classroom support is beneficial, though not essential.
• High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
• A genuine passion for helping young people fulfil their potential and flourish in their education.
