Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Bodyshop Supervisor is an integral part of the supervisory team, taking a lead role within the team. The Supervisor will be 'hands on' driving and delivering all activities associated with refurbishment of a vehicle from the point of customer authorisation to successfully passing bodyshop quality assurance.
We are looking for an experienced operator who is proficient in supervising/managing teams and driving output and performance. You will be key in driving the supervisory team and ensuring productivity and process improvement is maximised within the bodyshop department.
Key responsibilities
Ensure the rest of the supervisory team and all operational team members maximise the bodyshop activities on site and ensure the best, most appropriate and efficient processes are undertaken to deliver the highest level of customer service.Ensure the BCA values and beliefs are upheld
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment
Lead the supervisory team and bodyshop operations within the vehicle repair process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelinesLead the supervisory and bodyshop team to foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement
Implement workshop planning strategies to optimise resource allocation and enhance productivity
Manage the workload and workflow within production areas to ensure production targets are met
Support a culture of continual improvement to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, where required, to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices
Liaise with customers, as required, and strive to ensure all contractual obligations are met
Monitor internal KPIs and customer SLAs to track performance to deliver results and identify areas for improvement
Support the Operations Manager to chase revenue and operational targets on a daily basis
Review overtime requirements to achieve customer needs, ensuring costs are monitored/controlled
Review agency staff level requirements to peak and trough with available work and work with the Operations Manager to ensure the right level of staff/costs are achieved to deliver the required result
If the Operations Manager is unavailable you will pick up any delegated responsibilities
Support all activities linked to ISO standards (e.g. 9001, 14001, 45001)
Support ESG initiatives on site
Carry out staff return to work interviews to support in absence management and monitor/review staff performance
Support with interviewing and overseeing skill tests of potential new starters
Technical skills:
Previous experience working in a Bodyshop environment at supervisory level, or higher (ideally 3+ years)Direct practical experience of paint line processes and repair techniques is preferable
Strong IT skills with a good knowledge of MS Office. Any industry bespoke IT systems is advantageous, although training is available
Knowledge and Experience:
Strong understanding of all bodyshop processes and techniques to drive the best outcome for both customer's and the businessStrong people skills and ability to engage effectively with both staff and management
Perform duties professionally, punctually and courteously at all times - Lead by example
Ability to drive results and achieve operational targets in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and motivate team members
Ability to review and develop operational processes to aid in driving continuous improvement and change
Capability to react calmly and effectively in unplanned situations

Own a Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
