Nursery Teaching Assistant (SEN Experience Required)

Contract Type: Temporary, with the possibility of long-term placement

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a passion for working with young children in an early years setting?

We are looking for a Nursery Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to join a nurturing nursery environment in Plymouth.

This rewarding role will involve working closely with nursery-aged children, providing vital support to those with additional needs.

• Provide individual and group support to nursery-aged children, particularly those with SEN.
• Assist in planning and delivering activities that promote early years development and learning.
• Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and SENCOs to develop and implement tailored learning strategies.
• Support the children's emotional well-being, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in Early Years or Nursery settings.
• Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
• A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with young children.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and liaise with parents and external professionals.
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification is desirable, though not essential.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
