The role will be working as a Commercial Manager (Change Lead) to work within the appointed ME contractors commercial team with a specific focus to lead on Commercial Management of Change value engineering optioneering mitigation strategies measures and controls at our HS2 Old Oak Common project
This role is based in London on site 4 days a week
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and ideally have worked on major UK rail projects
Job description
The role is an integral part of the project Commercial team and will manage and lead the Commercial Management Change process working closely and collaboratively with the wider Technical and Construction Delivery teams The Commercial Manager (Change Lead) will hold key responsibilities associated with the commercial and financial success of the project ensuring that all Change value engineering and optioneering related opportunities are maximised and secured including full agreement with upstream Client Stakeholders
In the role you will be working in the rail and infrastructure sector
Key responsibilities- NEC3 Option C Contract management and administration
- Commercial reporting associated with change management
- Establish and manage entitlement with key focus on gaining full entitlement under the terms of the Subcontract
- Measurement and Compensation Event Quotation development and pricing through to formal Quotation submission
- Assessment of change impacts against the program
- Development management and reporting of project Change metrics and dashboards
- Liaison and negotiation with the Customers Commercial and or project team
- Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Advise and assisting the Commercial Technical and Construction Delivery teams with the implementation of the commercial procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
- Manage and lead all Change Management meetings
- Manage and lead relevant Risk Reduction meetings
- Investigate and draft contract communications and notices including Early Warning Notices notification of Compensation Events General Communications
- Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the Commercial team and wider Technical and Construction Delivery teams
- As required by Commercial Project Director manage monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects and portfolio of works
- As required by Commercial Project Director support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules
- Mentor apprentices and support emerging talent programmes and initiatives
- Ideally you will have a track record of managing and developing a commercial team and ideally will be a Chartered Member or Fellow of the RICS ICES or CIOB and a mentor role model to other commercial staff on their journey to becoming professionally qualified
- Degree qualified or equivalent in construction commercial management
- Experience working on major complex building and MEP works
- Must have excellent NEC3 Option C Contract knowledge and experience
- Have experience in managing others and working in large teams
- Collaborative approach to both internal and external stakeholders
- Flexible &lsquo can do attitude in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach
- Must have both claims and dispute resolution working experience
- Must have a good experience of UK law
