The DBT Places team, part of DBT’s People & Places Directorate, are responsible for reviewing the DBT Estates Strategy, building resourcing levels outside of London, delivering Places for Growth, meeting and reporting on the Greening Government Commitment (GGC) targets and supporting the drive to improve the people experience at all our modern and fit for purpose sites.This role offers a chance for a talented individual to play a key role in developing environmental sustainability performance reporting and engaging with DBT’s Partner Organisations.
We are recruiting for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our small, professional and experienced team. We have subject matter experts on environmental sustainability, facilities management, property portfolio and project delivery.
This is a cross-cutting and challenging role, managing the GGC reporting commitments and providing the interface between key stakeholders to build a culture of environmental and sustainability innovation and implementation. The post is open to all current SEOs on level transfer and HEOs are encouraged to apply on promotion.
The Sustainability & Partnership Engagement Lead will work closely with Partner Organisations, Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, the Government Property Agency and DBT colleagues to ensure environmental sustainability data is collected, analysed and evaluated with the aim of promoting opportunities to meet sustainability commitments.
This role will play a central role in meeting DBT’s mandatory environmental sustainability reporting targets and working collaboratively across a range of themes including energy management and carbon reduction in line with net zero, carbon ambitions, waste management, water efficiency, biodiversity protection and enhancement, climate adaptation and embedding environmental sustainability throughout the property lifecycle.
