CNC Machinist

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Operating CNC machines to produce turbine products, following work instructions and meeting company standards
- Ensuring safe machinery setup and loading material into machines
- Understanding engineering drawings and utilising CMM readouts for various operations
- Examining machinery production output to verify its acceptability
- Performing gauging and CMM measurements of components to ensure conformity
- Maintaining and updating records about the machine's operation
- Regularly inspecting machines for mechanical and safety issues
- Working a flexible schedule to meet production demand during busy periods
Essential Skills:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Completed a recognised full Level 3 apprenticeship, or an NVQ Level 3 or Technical certificate in a relevant engineering field
- Experience in CNC machining
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- A proactive outlook towards work and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Pride in maintaining a clean work area and surroundings
The following skills are desirable, but not essential:
- Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, or Okuma controls
