About the role:

Queens Park Community School would like to recruit an IT Apprentice to provide 1st and 2nd line support to all users within the school. The role will be based at our fantastic site in North West London.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a level 3/4 apprenticeship course with our apprenticeship provider which will be funded by the school.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • The ability to contribute to the achievement of the Queens Park Community School of creating a professional IT Department, by working closely with the school to ensure the level of services required are met.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with Windows based systems. Setting up computers & providing support
  • Experience in using and maintaining Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasive and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work with children of all ages.
  • Willingness to learn and improve technical skills through recognised qualifications/in-house training.
  • A cheerful disposition.
Job Activities
  • To undertake routine maintenance tasks (for example replace mice and keyboards, replenishment of printer paper / cartridges, laptop repairs etc).
  • To provide technical advice, support and assistance to network users (staff and students) to enable them to make full use of resources, services and facilities.
  • To provide first-line fault diagnosis and repair of faulty hardware (where appropriate).
  • To ensure a high level of customer care at all times.
  • To support in the documentation of work completed and maintaining records.
  • To unpack, install, inspect and configure new IT equipment.
  • To assist with the re-imaging of computers.
  • To set up laptops for meetings, assemblies and other school functions.
  • To demonstrate hardware to staff and students.
  • To research methods of problem-solving
  • To adopt and work within school policies and procedures.
  • To identify and report any potential health and safety issues to the nominated member of staff.
  • To participate in the appraisal process.
  • To complete any other reasonable tasks.
