The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview

The post holder will work as part of the Car Leasing team and will play a crucial role in supporting the Supervisor across the whole range of functions. They will have particular responsibility for co-ordinating the authorisation process with contracted garages/ body shops, Trust workshops, and lease companies, monitoring work carried out, charges and service delivery, and for dealing with any related problems.

In addition, the post holder provides technical and general support to the Fleet Department and its activities and operations, dealing with manufactures and suppliers on technical issues.

The post holder is responsible for co-ordinating the authorisation process with contracted garages/ body shops, Trust workshops, and lease companies, monitoring work carried out, charges and service delivery, and for dealing with any related problems.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification plus additional knowledge of financial procedures/contract law to Diploma Level obtained through formal qualifications (e.g. CIPS) and/or equivalent experience; or equivalent level of experience within a Business Admin/Procurement environment.
  • General understanding of contracts management
  • Willingness to undertake appropriate training to enhance knowledge of specialised equipment and technical procedures to ensure value for money and support compliance with cost improvement initiatives
Desirable criteria
  • Sound knowledge of workshop and garage technical operations
  • Detailed technical knowledge of vehicle and mechanical fitting practices and procedures

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of using financial systems such as Oracle for the ordering of supplies
  • Experience of using Microsoft office packages i.e. teams, word, excel, powerpoint and outlook
  • Experience of working within a demanding environment with competing priorities and workloads
  • Experience of liaising with customer and service users, crossing organisational boundaries
