Senior Account Director (Digital)

We are looking for an outstanding and strategic Senior Account Director (Digital) to join the Digital team at Inkling, playing a key role across our client account portfolio, being the lead digital and social media client partner across key clients and overseeing all the activity on their account.

We need someone who can develop and maintain brilliant client relationships, deliver best-in-class campaigns, and work as part of an integrated team alongside PR, influencer marketing, experiential and creative colleagues.

Alongside this, the Account Director (Digital) has a bigger commercial responsibility; proactively generating new income by identifying opportunities for growth with existing clients and being instrumental in new business pitches.

We work across a broad spectrum of clients including Hitachi, The Crown Estate, Gather & Gather, Yoto, Kooth and Beavertown. We need someone who:

  • Is a creative and strategic thinker
  • Is a brilliant project manager - able to see projects through from client brief to final delivery
  • Has experience working with B2B clients and corporate clients as well as consumer clients
  • Has experience working with an integrated team that includes strategy, creative, production, experiential, PR and influencer
  • Is solutions focused and able to adapt to changing situations with ease
  • Is personable, engaging and enjoys a varied workload
  • Is commercially minded and proactively looks for ways to grow clients and income
  • Is proactive in their approach to work and tackling new opportunities
  • Can get under the skin of a client’s business to be a reliable consultant

Requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for digital marketing planning (strategic oversight) and output across accounts, successfully managing retained and project work, achieving KPIs and proactively looking for opportunities to grow the client business
  • Be a go-to expert on digital marketing (social media, paid social advertising, content, website, email marketing (Mailchimp), influencer marketing), ensuring we are always looking for opportunities to improve quality and performance and showcase true value for clients and the agency
  • Leading on always-on and campaign ideation and planning, decks, working closely with team members to create award-winning work
  • A strategic lead on creative content development, with the ability to develop platform-first creative ideas, oversee video production and write excellent briefs for our creative team. Can also turn your hand to content creation across some client accounts and for pitch work, if required
  • A reliable, safe pair of hands with excellent attention to detail, ensuring projects and retainer work are consistently delivered to the highest standards
  • Reporting across campaign and always-on activity - gathering learnings & benchmarking metrics to present to clients and setting clear actions to implement
  • Supporting the Digital Business Director and wider team on new business – research, proposals, and pitch work, when required
  • Play a key role in crisis planning, troubleshooting and problem solving (with support from your senior team where needed
  • Supporting junior line report’s professional development

Experience

Essential:

The candidate must have:

  • You have at least 6+ years of agency or brand experience with a proven track record implementing brand strategies with specialist knowledge of social media, paid social advertising and digital marketing (email marketing and website management)
  • You can demonstrate strategic and innovative thinking, both for clients and the agency
  • You have an entrepreneurial attitude and experience working on developing new business
  • You have exceptional account management skills; can demonstrate how you nurture rewarding client relationships
  • You’re creatively minded, contributing new and exciting ideas for everything from one-off social posts to wider brand campaigns
  • Demonstrable experience in working with creative and design teams to brief content requirements
  • You embody superb professionalism and a mature presence in all aspects of team and client relationship building
  • You’ll be comfortable with multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced and commercially driven environment
  • You exhibit a genuine passion for digital platforms, social, and enthusiasm for ever-changing trends, platforms, and formats and how they might enhance our client work and always strive to deliver best-in-class campaigns and work to a high standard
  • You can manage team resource, identify issues and upweight team as needed
