An exciting opportunity has is available for a support worker to join our Community Mental Health team. Queens Park and Paddington Community Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary team made up of nurses, doctors, social workers, peer workers, admin and therapists providing mental health care to the population of North Westminster.

The team works 9-5 Monday to Friday and there is one full time post available.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users.

To be an active member of the multidisciplinary Westminster Mental Health Hub and to undertake support with individuals of working age, and their families/carers, who have acute or severe and enduring mental illness or who otherwise require intervention or input from our service.

To provide support an allocated group of Service Users in order to promote their recovery in the community setting, enabling them to build their own support network.

CWNL is a large organisation providing services throughout a person’s life, covering community, sexual health, mental health, health and justice and addictions services.

The Queens Park and Paddington (QPP) Community Mental Health team is a large friendly team made up of a range of clinical and non-clinical staff who work together to provide good quality care to residents in North Westminster.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

To work in support of Care Co-ordinators, Lead Professionals and qualified clinical staff, in the negotiated and planned delivery of a range of interventions and activities to an identified service user group;

To work independently with service users and carers, in agreement with qualified staff;

To work in a variety of locations, including service users' homes, and other non-clinical settings, e.g. cafes, sports facilities, colleges etc.

To work with service users in accessing work and employment opportunities, and to support the service users in using these to their full advantage, to enhance recovery.

To develop links with a range of external agencies, to increase the range of opportunities available to the service users of the Early Intervention Team, to enhance their recovery.

To ensure that accurate, legible and up-to date records of activity with service users and their carers are kept, and to maintain these records in good order;

To work flexibly in response to the needs of the service users of the community teams;

Communication:

To ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of service user

confidentiality, and to seek guidance if not sure;

To communicate with the Team, any relevant information related to clinical or other appropriate areas, e.g. health & safety;
To deliver appropriate information to service users and their carers/support networks, related to psychosis and recovery from this;
To ensure that any information related to service user or other personnel safety is communicated immediately to senior Team members;
To make and receive telephone calls from and to service users, their carers and support networks, and appropriate statutory and non-statutory agencies;
