Infrastructure is a key priority for countries around the globe and essential to deliver sustainable development. This role leads a diverse and high performing team joining up across different infrastructure sectors and working closely with legal, commercial, UKEF, the international network and companies.The team develop partnerships that enable countries around the world to benefit from the expertise and capabilities that UK businesses have, particularly for large and complex infrastructure projects and programmes, as well as driving economic growth for UK.
It operates across organisational boundaries, co-ordinating with other parts of UK government such as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Infrastructure and Project Authority on international engagement to support the Growth Mission, as well as professional bodies, researchers and think tanks.
Responsibilities include:
- driving growth in exports of engineering and professional services by removing barriers for UK businesses to access key markets
- helping partners to understand and secure the value that sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems can offer
- encouraging ‘Team UK’ consortia including expertise on finance and funding, regulation and legislation
- partnering with like-minded countries that have complementary capabilities to work together on high quality infrastructure in third markets
