NIHR The Royal Marsden Clinical Research Facility based on West Wing Clinical Research centre, Sutton has an excellent opportunity for a diligent and hard working individual to join our team and support important cancer drug development. The post holder will provide administration support the West Wing Clinical Research Centre clinical team by facilitating the smooth and efficient set up of new clinical trials.
The main duties involve the creation of Source Data Worksheets for all Clinical Trials run on the unit in addition to supporting the Research Facilitator with any delegated tasks in relation to the maintenance of essential staff training documentation and quality assurance documentation for the unit.
  • • Work to support the NIHR CRF Manager, WWCRC Matron, Sister and Research Facilitator to ensure the smooth running of the WWCRC, providing administrative support to the Matron, Sister and Research Facilitator.
  • To liaise with tumour specific Clinical Research Teams (CRTs) to maintain up-to-date delegation /training logs for the trials that run on WWCRC.
  • To work in collaboration with the WWCRC nurses, administrative staff and the Clinical Research Teams to provide support in producing clinical trial Source Documentation Worksheets (SDW).
  • To assist with the creation of SOPs which reflect the processes that take place on WWCRC and maintain appropriate training records.
  • Maintain a tracker of all studies in the pipeline and update the excel spread sheet with relevant information regarding clinical trials open to recruitment and in follow-up on West Wing.
  • Maintain all training, equipment logs and other QA documents on West Wing and these keep up to date in line with best practice and WWCRC SOPs.
  • To work in collaboration with the laboratory team on WWCRC to ensure documents are produced in a timely manner for specific trial protocols.

  • Liaise with WWCRC LM to develop a standardised procedure for sample processing for each trial specific protocol.
  • Ensure all samples are logged into electronic system
  • Develop and maintain sample records and freezer logs such that a database of all tissues stored within the unit is maintained.
  • Maintain accurate records of freezer, fridge and cupboard temperatures in accordance with GCP.
