Overview:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Team Leader to join the 1625 Outreach Service.

1625 Outreach is no normal drug and alcohol service. It is an innovative and forward-thinking project, with a proven track record of effectively engaging young people and young adults.

Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction, we provide non-judgmental, fact-based, information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks.

We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices, to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well when it comes to drugs/alcohol.

Where: Derby & Derbyshire
Hours: 37.5 per week (full time)

Salary: £34,700.09 - £36,635.38 depending on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata for part time)

Responsibilities:

About the role:

  • You will manage the team based in Derby & Derbyshire, overseeing the coordination and delivery of the service’s outreach, education, events and night-time economy work, supporting the Cluster Manager in the continual development and improvement of service delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships externally with partners and stakeholders, and within the service Including working closely with the digital and marketing lead to ensure a pragmatic approach to service visibility is achieved.
  • You will be taking responsibility for personal development and supervision/appraisal processes, with additional duties as the services designated safeguarding lead.
  • Addressing emerging needs is paramount when working with young people and young adults in this setting.
  • You will need to expect the unexpected, don’t worry though, you will experience a lot of fun and enjoyment in this role.

About you:

  • Considerable knowledge and experience of working with young people and/or young adults.
  • Knowledge of the issues faced by young people and young adults (those aged 16-25).
  • Line management experience including the delivery of reflective supervision.
  • The ability to lead, empower and motivate a team.
  • Project management experience including working against deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices relating to young people, young and vulnerable adults.
  • The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
  • Knowledge & experience of working in a risk informed way, including the development and use of qualitative & dynamic risk assessments.
  • Knowledge and experience of community-based support/outreach practices.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time): CGL points 31 to 33 (£34,700.09 - £36,635.37)
