Support Worker – Homelessness Services1 Year Fixed Term ContractHightown offer a trauma-informed, safe environment that is person-centred and supports homeless individuals to access the help they need. This could include support to find accommodation, claim benefits, counselling or signposting to specialist agencies for support with things like drug and alcohol addictions.About the roleAs a Support Worker, you will be working independently and as part of a team to provide support to people in 3 homelessness schemes in Hemel Hempstead.
Queensway is a 5-bedroom house of multiple occupancy. All rooms have an ensuite and there are shared facilities including lounge and kitchen.The Mews is made up of 4 self-contained bungalows.Alexandra Road is made up of 9 x self-contained flats and a staff office which is where the successful applicant will be based.We are looking for someone who:Has experience of providing support to vulnerable peopleHas experience of providing advice, guidance and support to homeless individualsPositively engages with and sustains appropriate relationships with individuals who are often unwilling to engage with servicesCan deliver practical housing related support through structured link workCan work on own initiative and as a part of a teamCan act calmly and respond professionally in stressful and difficult situationsWe welcome applications from people who have experienced homelessness.
