Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Department Leader to spearhead the development of our outpatient and fracture clinic teams in the princes of Wales Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with the MDT & trauma nurse specialist to ensure patients have a positive experience and receive a high standard of care.

An experience in an outpatient environment is essential, as is a commitment to outpatient service development. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and experience in outpatient care or possess strong transferrable skills to lead and inspire the team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have responsibility for the operational management of Fracture & Outpatient Clinics at Princess of Wales Hospital. They will provide and maintain high quality patient care, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, to achieve the highest standards for patients and their carers.

This post will include ensuring correct governance processes related to

health and safety, clinical risks, incident management and relevant audits and assessments. The post holder will need to engage with this work along side the planning and delivery of future services.

The post holder will be responsible for managing their own workload effectively, delegate duties and tasks appropriately, and demonstrate budgetary awareness over both departments.

The post holder will be required to ensure the highest standard of patient care, which reflects the quality of standards, values and behaviours of the University Health Board, and contribute to the implementation of policies and procedures within the sphere of responsibility.
