Teaching Assistants Needed for SEN School in NEWBURY!
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
FULL TIME
The school has 3 sites across the Newbury area, 2x in Welford and 1x in Newbury Centre.
This school caters for children 5-16 years old with social and emotional needs, as well as associated needs (Autism, ADHD, PDA etc.)

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who need guidance, structure, and encouragement to reach their full potential.- Provide targeted 1:1 and group support for students facing behavioral or emotional challenges
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies in collaboration with teachers and SEN coordinators
- Foster a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment to encourage student engagement and success
- Mentor students to improve their emotional well-being, resilience, and self-esteem
- Support students in making positive choices and developing coping strategies to manage their behavior effectively
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting student behavior
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioral, emotional, or social difficulties (preferred but not essential)
- A calm, patient, and resilient nature with a passion for helping young people
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow behavior management plans effectively

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
