We are looking to recruit a DLF Driver/ Warehouse Operative on a permanent basis to join the Logistics Team based in our Hailsham hub (Pallet track logistics, Unit 14B, C, Ropemaker Park, Diplocks Way, Hailsham, BN27 3JU).
The Role
Working out of our freight partners hub in Hailsham & reporting to the TR Fastenings Customer Logistics Team Leader, your role will be to contribute to the effective and efficient smooth running of the Direct Line Feed (DLF) operation, be responsible for maintaining the organisation of the hub and to ensure the delivery of a cost-effective service for both internal and external customers is achieved.
This is a day shift role, with pallets arriving in Hailsham around 7:30 am. The working hours per week are 37.5, Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.
Duties include:
- Receive daily shipments from our National Distribution Centre.
- The accurate decanting of stock from cartons into returnable plastic “Kanban” bins.
- Checking delivery paperwork against deliveries and reporting any discrepancies.
- Dispose of waste, mainly cardboard, and keep the designated area within the Pallet Track facility tidy.
- Occasionally help TR`s drivers with deliveries.
- Occasionally cover driving and delivering if drivers are sick or on holiday.
- Follow all TR fastenings and Pallet Track HSE guidelines while on site.
The Candidate
We are seeking a candidate who values teamwork but also possesses the drive and initiative to work independently. The ideal applicant will have experience driving a transit-size vehicle, hold a full, clean driving license, and have a background in customer service.
Although the successful applicant will be working out of the Pallet Track facility, you will be an employee of TR Fastenings Ltd.
