It is an exciting time to come join us in Adults Integrated Care. Using a strengths-based approach to care, our vision is to promote independence whilst meeting the Social Care needs of vulnerable adults.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and hardworking Social Workers into our Community team for learning disabilities (CTLD). We work closely with other key agencies (including Heath and housing) to carry out person led assessments of adults with a learning disability.
We complete Strength based assessments, with a view to promote positive change and self-determination for the people we support. We also aim to prevent or reduce the risk of harm occurring to the people we support and enable them to achieve their personal outcomes.

As a Social Worker, you will be passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.

The team consists of social workers, care co-ordinators and co-ordination support officers. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday. Flexible and agile working arrangements are on offer and can be used effectively to enhance work-life balance and job satisfaction.

You will need to work well as a team player and also as an autonomous professional. You will hold a complex caseload and need to understand your statutory duties and responsibilities. Court work is a necessary part of this role. Good organisation, risk management and prioritisation skills are essential.

You will already have (or be willing to acquire) all the necessary skills, knowledge experience required of a Social worker based in our service. The ability to drive is essential. We are looking for someone that has a commitment to improving the lives of our service users and contributing towards making our service better.

With the benefit of working within the flexible working scheme, you will have regular supervision and the support of a highly motivated team, along with the relevant training required for the post, to develop in your role.

All newly qualified staff will need to undertake the ASYE programme which Wakefield are dedicated too, you will be given an ASYE assessor to help you along the way with regular 1:1 sessions, training, and support from the team. This first year in employment will be a probationary year as we work with you start your career in Social Work.

Applicants for this role must be qualified to a degree level or equivalent and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England, with essential post qualifying relevant training and experience.
