Legal Secretary (Litigation Specialist).

Overview:
We require an experienced, Legal Secretary with a track record and recent expertise in all areas of legal litigation This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in a fast-paced, high-performing team, supporting the Senior Partner with day-to-day legal and administrative functions.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated and ready to take on new challenges within a dynamic legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Court & Legal Documentation:
Handle all court matters, including filing documents, managing court portals, and ensuring deadlines are met. Assist with preparation and management of litigation documentation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Audio Typing & Document Management:
Perform accurate and efficient audio typing, dictation, and transcription for legal documents. Maintain an organised system for storing and retrieving documents, ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
  • Litigation Support:
Provide comprehensive litigation support, including managing case files, drafting correspondence, and preparing legal documents. Coordinate discovery processes and assist with trial preparation.
  • Technological Proficiency:
Utilise various legal technologies, including court portals and case management software, to streamline workflows and ensure efficient handling of cases. Stay updated on the latest legal technology to enhance office productivity.
  • Client Liaison & Communication:
Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders. Manage schedules and appointments and ensure timely responses to client inquiries.
  • General Administrative Support:

Provide general office support, including managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence. Assist with billing, timesheets, and administrative duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree-educated (Law degree preferred but not essential).
  • Legal Secretarial and Paralegal experience in litigation is essential.
  • Extensive experience in litigation law and legal procedures, with a strong understanding of court matters and filing processes.
  • Proficiency in audio typing and document preparation.
  • Technologically savvy with expertise in legal software, court portals, and case management systems.
  • A high degree of initiative, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an attention to detail and professionalism.
