SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a Key Stage 2 SEN provision in a mainstream school in Hackney. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children requiring additional support, helping them to thrive in their learning and personal development.

• Experience supporting children with SEN, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
• A good understanding of strategies and interventions to support children with additional needs.
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children who have complex needs.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils within the SEN provision.
• Assisting the class teacher in adapting lessons and activities to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
• Supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of the children.
• Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitoring pupil progress.
• Encouraging positive behavior and promoting independence among pupils.
• Collaborating with the wider school team to create a safe and supportive environment for all learners.
