Business Support Apprentice
37 Hours Per Week
An opportunity has arisen within our busy Business Support Team for an Apprentice to develop a range of administrative skills and to work closely with Business Support and the Elections Team.
This job will provide on-the-job training and experience in a varied and interesting environment, you will also undertake level 3 apprenticeship training (Business Administration) and an Elections course.
The Business Support Team provides a wide range of clerical, administrative and financial support to all Council departments.
You will be expected to work to defined business standards and processes to perform routine administrative tasks. You will be able to work shadow Business Support and the Elections Team in various administrative processes, learn how to deal with everyday queries and issues whilst learning problem-solving skills along the journey.You will be required to maintain computerised information systems, including data input across a range of databases; general office support work including emails, filing, scanning/indexing, deal with routine correspondence and handling of mail.
You’ll be guided throughout the contract by the Business Support Team Leader and Electoral Services/Land Charges Manager and be able to lean on the experience of other colleagues.

- Microsoft Office Package

What you need to know: You must have GCSE English and Maths A-C/4-9 or equivalent
- The role is for a fixed term of 24 months
- Working hours are 37 per week, with normal office hours being Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
- You may be required to work additional hours during an election period.
Successfully shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a formal interview which will include a scenario based exercise in order to determine suitability for the role.
