LOCK5 manufactures and installs the interior and exterior fit out for event spaces using a range of materials. To support the effective design, production and installation of our work, a CAD technician is required to provide visual information for clients, production teams and installation crew.

This role will be based in our offices in Bishops Waltham and will work closely with our design, manufacturing and production team. A broad range of capabilities are required to produce 2D drawings for manufacturing, production and 3D rend[LB1] [FM2] ers and illustrations for presentations to clients.

The CAD technician works across the business providing accurate and clear visual information for all departments. Using a creative flair and capability to create illustrations of event spaces and a practical approach to material drawings and technical layouts to support specification and accuracy, the role offers variety and challenge supporting LOCK5’s development.
  • Responding to verbal and written briefs to create draft layouts
  • Research materials, information and activities to identify finishes representative renders
  • Support production team to create templates for manufacturing drawings
  • Work up 3D renders for slide decks illustrating the aesthetic production qualities
  • Build up installation schedules and drawings to provide detailed installation specifications, both plan and elevation drawings[TC3] [FM4] [FM5] [FM6]
  • Create and manage material libraries and information on fabrics, timber, metal, materials and effects
  • Work on innovative solutions to create Bills of Materials and integrated inventory management
Essential:
  • CAD production in 2D/3D using tools such as Sketchup, Autodesk, Draftsight, Solid Works, Vectorworks
  • Technical capability in materials, renders, finishes and information
  • Experience of creating visual representations for internal and external spaces
  • Interest in materials, techniques and finishes
  • Reacting and developing solutions under pressure
Desirable:
  • Producing Technical drawings for production and manufacture
  • Ground Layouts
  • Creating Bills of Materials
  • Appreciation of sustainability and innovative solutions to reduce waste

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Southampton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

  • Sketchup: 1 year (required)
  • Solid Works: 1 year (required)
  • CAD: 1 year (required)
