We are thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Head Veterinary Nurse at a proudly independent small animal practice nestled in a picturesque market town in the heart of the West Midlands.

As an RCVS accredited small animal practice, they take pride in offering fair and trusted veterinary services to their beloved furry companions.
Recently relocated to modern premises, the practice boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including Digital Radiography, Dental, Ultrasonography, an In-house laboratory, separate cat and dog wards, 5 consult rooms, and 3 fully-equipped theatres.

They are committed to providing the highest standard of care through continuous investment in cutting-edge technology and resources.

Joining this dynamic team of veterinary professionals, you will collaborate with 2 partner vets, 7 vets (including a certificate holder in small animal medicine and a postgraduate diploma in companion animal behaviour), 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Nurses, 3 Nursing Assistants, and a dedicated customer care team.
Together, they strive to deliver exceptional veterinary care and uphold their commitment to the well-being of every patient. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving patient care, capable of thriving in a leadership role, and enjoys working collaboratively as part of a management team.

The Head Nurse role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of care, adherence to protocols, and contributing to the overall improvement of their services and maintaining the ethos of this caring and friendly practice.

This is a full-time position to be worked over 4-5 days with flexibility on working days and hours to accommodate a healthy work-life balance. You will be responsible for leading and managing the nursing team, ensuring efficient and effective operations, assisting in implementing the strategic decisions made by the partners to promote growth and enhance the practice and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

You will also act as a mentor to your nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical practices, supervising continued professional development and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the nursing team.

The Rota:
  • Excellent salary up to £38,000 DOE, with a commitment to a 6 monthly pay review for the first 2 years
  • Full time role - 37 hour week
  • 4 day week - 8am - 4:30pm or 11am - 7pm
  • 1:5 Saturdays - 8:30am - 4:30pm (reception closes at 12pm) with TOIL
  • No OOHs
