The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced medical teacher for the role of Interim Lead for Communication in Medical Education to provide operational leadership of clinical communication teaching within the undergraduate MBChB programme.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that medical students gain the necessary skills to communicate empathically and effectively in clinical situations, and meet relevant professional standards at graduation. The interim lead will work collaboratively with academic, clinical and administrative colleagues to maintain high quality delivery of the clinical communication curriculum.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Medical qualification or relevant healthcare-related degree, or other healthcare communication education qualificationExpertise in communication teaching and assessment
Demonstrable ability to lead teams and projects
Understanding of pedagogical principles and methods
