Commerical Service Manager
A well-established, family-run commercial automotive business is looking for a Service Manager/Workshop Control Support at their busy Portsmouth depot. With over three decades of experience and continued growth, this company offers job security and excellent career advancement opportunities across its multiple locations in the South of England.
Location: PortsmouthSalary Range: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (including KPI Bonus, dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Every third Saturday morning, 8:00 am to 12:00 noon
Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays, increasing with time served
Tasks
The Role:
As a key member of the service team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, including covering workshop control during holiday or absence periods. In this hands-on role, you’ll focus on delivering outstanding customer service, achieving high KPIs, and maintaining MOT pass rates and dealer standards. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing workshop control, job card creation, customer updates, retail costing, and parts processes
- Managing workshop productivity, stock control, and quality performance
- Driving customer service excellence and retaining business for both the Workshop and Parts departments
- Supporting staff recruitment and identifying training needs for team development
- Ensuring compliance with company-wide standardized policies
