We are looking to recruit new graduates that may have just graduated or graduating soon.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic band 5 Physiotherapist to join our team . You will work as part of our Therapies team providing high quality care to patients at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital. This post currently offers four monthly rotations covering the following areas: medical respiratory including ITU and HDU, acute paediatrics, out patients, Emergency Care and Acute Medicine, orthopaedics/surgery, neurology and Complex Medical Wards.

Our service cover is 7 days a weeks and weekend working and late shifts.

You must be eager to learn, organised, and be able to work effectively as part of a team. You will be supported in this role by a friendly and knowledgeable colleges. The Therapies Department at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital is a dynamic and evolving department and you will be encouraged to actively participate in service development and evaluation.

We would consider part time working and return to practice applicants.

Please note interviews will be face to face due to practical element to the interview process.

Acute NHS experience is essential for applying this position.

Main duties of the job
  1. To perform therapeutic assessment of patients with diverse and varied
physical and psychological conditions, to determine a diagnosis and formulate and deliver an appropriate individualised treatment programme.
  1. To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a specific area or ward, working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available when required. Clinical work is regularly evaluated by a senior physiotherapist.
  2. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  3. To supervise work experience students on observational placement, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  4. To contribute and participate in evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice and improve service delivery within each rotation.

  • Diploma/Degree in Physio ( or completing)
  • HCPC registration
  • CPD evidence

  • Member of CSP

Experience

  • broad based undergraduate experience
  • evidence of working in an NHS acute hospital setting
  • MDT working
Desirable criteria
  • experience working with acute respiratory patients

Knowledge/skills

Essential criteria
  • effective time management
  • ability to be organised and work under pressure
