Job Title: Principal Engineer – Systems Engineering (Requirements)

Salary: £45,628+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct technical reviews, verify, and sign off on engineering designs
- Define, document, and share subject expertise and standards to enhance business knowledge
- Provide technical direction and support to engineers and teams for skill development and capability achievement
- Underpinning business cases for operations improvements
- Ensure qualification, design assurance, and safety case adequacy through audits, reviews, and compliance checks
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are considered and incorporated appropriately
- Evolving into a subject matter expert for areas throughout the new business
Your skills and experiences:
- HNC qualification with extensive Engineering/Operations or appropriate degree with operations experience
- Stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence key parties
- Demonstrated experience in design engineering
- Expertise in driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Background in operations management
- Experience in facility and site management, including process mapping

The SSNA Infrastructure team:
The SSNA Infrastructure Team is responsible for defining the requirements needed to meet the production line and rate for the SSNA program. This role offers the exciting opportunity to become a subject matter expert in the complex field of submarine builds, with the potential to implement smarter, more efficient ways of working.As you gain experience, you can grow within the facility and eventually take on a leadership role in this critical area. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
