Independent Futures provides regulated supported accommodation provision to young people who are 16 - 18 ( up to 21) years and are looking to develop their confidence and skills before taking that final step into independence at the age of 18 years.

Children and young people will have a voice which is listened to in shaping the home and the organisation, the care it provides and their placement and care plans.
Models of care and intervention are led by a clear understanding of the complex emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people in our homes.

There will be a shared understanding between Fairfields House staff and teams, Children’s Social Work Services and partner agencies (i.e.. Health, Education, The Police) regarding roles and responsibilities. Collaborative and supportive working relationships will be developed and established based on a shared approach and understanding of the care planning for young people and the statutory responsibilities of Social Work Teams, Children’s Homes and Post 16 Supported Accommodation.

We will ensure we know our children and young people well and understand their individual difficulties and risks they face. We will work with our young people and other professionals involved in theirs and their family’s life to promote positive and safe relationships.

We will have high aspirations and ambition for our young people’s futures, and this will be reflected in our plans and our relationships with them. We will know when we are making a positive difference, but also understand what we need to do differently when our plans do not seem to achieve the desired outcome.

About the Position: Fairfield's is looking for Post 16 Residential Support Workers to join our team in Manchester M14.

As a Support team member, you will be responsible for providing support to young people to ensure they have the very best experience and gain the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to be a successful adult. We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and able to provide excellent support.
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Duties:

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the 16+ Team Leader or Registered Service Manager take a lead role in the provision of a care service for young people that meets the Post 16 Supported Accommodation Regulations, Post 16 Quality Standards and the Fairfield House Group homes’ internal policies, procedures and guidance.

To provide and ensure staff in the home provide appropriate day-to-day support to a group of young people who have suffered significant trauma, neglect or abuse and who may display difficult and challenging behaviours – including those who may have a number of complex issues including sensory needs, mental health issues, have been criminally and or sexually exploited, sexually abused, neglected.

Ensuring that a psychologically secure and stable family type environment is provided that will enable children and young people to develop to their full potential. This could include working in a variety of settings.
