Bank Food Service Assistant

Job overview
You will be part of an effective team working in our staff restaurant, You will also be responsible for efficiently assisting in all areas of the food service as directed by your Team Leader and operating within established food hygiene and safety practices,
Methods and procedures and within the principles of a flexible team approach.
Working hours are between 6.45am-15.00 Monday to Friday, in Broadmoor Hospital.
This position is for a food service assistant on a bank contract.
Main duties of the job
Duties include the food preparation, food service, hospitality cleaning of premises/equipment and vending around the hospital.
Service areas are the staff restaurant, dish wash section, hospitality, retail and vending.
You will take part of a team preparing breakfast, sandwiches, snacks and drinks
You will help maintain a clean and hygienic food prep environment in line with the high standards of cleanliness. Completing all relevant paperwork.

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria- Good level of education, and ability to speak, read and write basic English.
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety. CGLI 706 1& 2 or NVQ equivalent.
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification
- Manual handling qualification.
- NVQ in Customer Care or Hospitality
Food preparation
Essential criteria- Be able to demonstrate a reasonable level of food preparation / cooking gained in industrial or commercial unit.
- Previous experience supervising staff
- Experience of working in the NHS
Training
Essential criteria- Sound understanding of Food Hygiene methods and procedures as well as Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Understanding of manual handling techniques.
- Understanding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity
- Understanding of ethnic menus and allergens.
