The Role
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. You will create a positive learning environment, foster a love of literature and language, and inspire students to achieve their academic potential.This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive school with excellent resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach English to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, focusing on both language and literature.
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE examinations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the English department’s curriculum and teaching resources.
- Provide constructive and regular feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that fosters engagement and participation.
- Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed about students' progress.
- Take part in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
They are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher who:- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Has a degree in English or a related subject.
- Has experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with a focus on English Language and Literature.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
- Is passionate about student success and committed to professional growth.
- Works well as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience teaching A-Level English (not essential).
- Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices.
