The role of the Senior Nursing Assistant within gynaecology is an exciting opportunity for candidates who thrives working independently as well as supporting the Nursing and medical team. We are looking for a person who can use initiative and problem solve under the guidance of Standard Operating Procedures and protocols.The position requires proficiency in both clinical and clerical skills . With duties ranging from managing waiting lists , making appointments and handling patient queries ( a knowledge of Careflow and Iportal is desirable but not essential) , as well as chaperoning , preparing and maintaining the clinical environment.
Predominantly based at Royal Stoke working alongside the gynaecology consultants and nursing team.
Main duties of the job- Organise all aspects of clerical duties including reception duties, maintenance of computerised and manual record systems, booking appointments, filing and ordering and storage of supplies.
- The provision of care involves invasive procedures, some of which require additional training and assessment of competence by a suitable qualified assessor eg bladder scanning, urodynamics assistant
- This role includes interpretation or analysis of clinical data.
- Prepare the environment for the admission of patients for gynaecology outpatient examinations & procedures.
- Chaperone and assist medical/nursing staff during patient examination
- • Communicate relevant information to the relevant consultant, Nurse in charge.
- Demonstrate good customer care skills.• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard free environment.
- Work in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and protocols.
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate a level of organisational skills including supervised management of junior Nursing Assistance/ Apprentices and their development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The primary role of a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care.
The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses.Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Workers should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM.
They will be required to undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
Key to this role is flexibility with the requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week on a week by week basis within agreed limits.

Experience
Essential criteria- 12 months experience in a care or clinical setting
- Can describe the value of EPU care
- Minimum of 1 years experience in early pregnancy care
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to GSCE level or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English
- Hold a Care Certificate
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, access and Power-point
- Evidence of professional development activity

- Pregnancy Testing • Urine Analysis (Strip)
