The Business Development Manager will:
- Work with the New Business Director to explore sales opportunities within and beyond automotive that align with company capabilities.
- Identify and engage potential clients, set appointments, and manage the sales cycle through to deal closure.
- Prepare accurate sales presentations, reports, and proposals.
- Assess client needs and follow a structured sales process to meet targets.
- Collaborate with other sales representatives to ensure consistency in pricing and service standards.
- Manage enquiries, proposals, quotations, and oversee projects from start to finish.
- Maintain project cost management and ensure changes are documented and agreed upon.
- Ensure clear communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Travel to client sites, suppliers, and company locations (UK and potentially international) as required.
- Develop and maintain project timing plans for internal and external customers.
- Document meetings and engagements to ensure client satisfaction and project integrity.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.
The Successful Applicant
Business Development Manager will have:
- At least three years of sales experience in a similar industry.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a professional but persuasive approach.
- Industry knowledge in motor-sports, design or adjacent sectors and the ability to present technical solutions effectively.
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage cost, quality, and timing in projects.
- Proficiency with sales management software and CRM systems.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a good understanding of risk management.
