Key Responsibilities:
- Member Support: Respond to inquiries about road transport compliance and operations via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions, all while adhering to established performance criteria.
- Research & Initiative: Take ownership of queries by conducting thorough research, using specialist publications, official documents, and liaising with colleagues or external agencies to provide evidence-based responses.
- Continuous Development: Stay updated on road transport law and safety to maintain expert-level knowledge, identifying areas for your own professional growth.
- Legislative Leadership: Be the go-to person for changes in specialist legislation, collaborating with government bodies and stakeholders to ensure our members are informed.
- Content Creation: Develop and contribute to communications that keep members updated on compliance topics, ensuring they have access to the latest information.
- Engagement Initiatives: Lead discussions on compliance subjects with external partners, enhancing our reputation as a trusted source of advice.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate membership records and manage MAC files to ensure information is current and accessible.
- Publication & Presentation: Edit and produce Logistics UK publications and presentations for both internal and external events, sharing your expertise with a wider audience.
- Quality Improvement: Continuously seek ways to enhance the quality of team outputs, solidifying Logistics UK’s position as a leader in compliance advice.
Requirements
We are seeking applicants with a solid and proven background in Heavy Goods Engineering or Mechanics, as it's essential for providing expert advice and knowledge to our members. It’s important that our team members can address queries with someone who has practical, hands-on experience.
- Expert Knowledge: You hold a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage and have a solid understanding of road transport legal issues.
- Mechanical Background: Experience as a commercial vehicle or public service vehicle mechanic/technician, with knowledge of legislation related to vehicle conditions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and instill confidence in members.
- Analytical Mindset: A keen analytical approach to researching and understanding legislation, with strong attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues, contributing to a positive team environment.
- Organisational Skills: Strong time management skills, capable of prioritising tasks and working under pressure.
- Presentation Skills: Experience in developing and delivering engaging presentations that simplify complex legal requirements.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt working hours as needed.
