1:1 Teaching Assistant

Are you an empathetic, patient, and driven individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a primary-aged student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex learning needs in a nurturing and structured environment.
- Deliver personalised 1:1 support, adapting teaching methods to suit the student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement and refine learning strategies.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the development of communication, social, and emotional skills.
- Implement positive behavior management techniques to encourage progress.
- Assist with sensory regulation and personal care, where required.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.
- Experience working with children with ASD and complex learning needs (ideally in an educational setting).
- A resilient, compassionate, and patient nature with a proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with visual supports, PECs, Makaton, or alternative communication methods (desirable but not essential).
- Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, psychology, or related fields (desirable but not essential).
