We are seeking an Orthoptist to join our friendly and dynamic team of Orthoptists at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Addenbrooke’s Hospital is a large teaching hospital and a research centre with strong affiliations with Cambridge University. It has a rich history of breaking the barriers of modern medicine and providing compassionate care for the patients.

You will work closely with 9 Orthoptists and 4 Paediatric and Adult Strabismus Consultants.

Depending on your knowledge and experience, you will have opportunity to work in specialist Clinics, including Strabismus, Paediatric-ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, Glaucoma and Medical Retina Dependent. This role will also include Community Clinics.

Excellent training and career progression opportunities are provided.We provide an excellent mentoring and preceptorship programme for newly qualified Orthoptists.
  • Providing timely Orthoptic and visual field services at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and off site Clinics, as required by the Head Orthoptist or their Deputy.
  • Participating in the supervision and clinical instruction of undergraduate Orthoptic students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to departmental teaching, research and audit.

  • or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
  • or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment

A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers and Band 5 Orthoptists taking up substantive employment with the Trust.
