Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Crawley
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school community. You will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of SEN needs, ensuring they receive consistent, tailored assistance throughout their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support for children with varying SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Ensure continuity of care and support, fostering trust and a sense of security for the children you work with.
- Promote social integration, emotional well-being, and positive learning experiences.
- Assist in maintaining a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages independence and self-confidence.
- Provide feedback to teachers and parents on student progress, ensuring a joined-up approach to learning.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting is desirable.
- A patient, compassionate, and consistent approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt, working flexibly as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for education and inclusion.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
