Security Guard
Location: Sheffield, City Centre
Salary: £25,000+
Contract: 12 months, Full-time (Mon-Fri, 1-hour lunch break; potential flexibility for Tues-Sat later in the year)
About the Role:Verus Recruitment is supporting a leading 3D scanning company in their search for a Security Guard to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is a unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment. While your primary focus will be on maintaining security and visitor safety, you will also support participants as they navigate the scanning process, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a friendly and reassuring presence in the waiting area.
- Direct visitors to the appropriate staff or areas with clear and helpful guidance.
- Monitor entry points, manage visitor flow, and maintain a secure environment.
- Spend designated periods monitoring CCTV to oversee the safety of all areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disputes, or challenging situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of visitors and staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify and address safety or security risks.
- Offer assistance to staff, visitors, or customers, including providing directions, answering questions, or addressing concerns.
Requirements:
- Valid UK security qualifications (e.g., SIA licence).
- Proven experience in security or a similar protective role.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring and strong attention to detail.
- Confidence and assertiveness when needed, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly.
- Empathy and observance, with a willingness to learn basic concepts of the scanning process to better assist visitors.
