Health and Safety Advisor / H&S Officer with some previous experience in a health and safety capacity, knowledge of/aptitude to learn health & safety software systems, good attention to detail and time management skills is required for a well-established industrial manufacturing company based in Stirling, Scotland.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced H&S Advisor. However, the company will consider a trainee with some previous experience in a health and safety capacity.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor / H&S Officer with some previous experience in a health and safety capacity, knowledge of/aptitude to learn health & safety software systems, good attention to detail and time management skills.

Working as a Health and Safety Advisor / H&S Officer you will work as part of a small team, operating in a professional manner and collaborating with other departments to support the companies Health and Safety agenda.

As a Health and Safety Advisor / H&S Officer you will be in a varied role in the health and safety department involving the application of a variety of H&S activities and assist in reviewing H&S Procedures throughout the company.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Health and Safety Advisor / H&S Officer will include:

  • Working in a safe manner at all times, ensuring own health, safety and well-being are maintained
  • Successfully complete relevant training and development initiatives to support professional growth
  • Uphold the company values and objectives through maintaining a professional influence across the business departments
  • Assist in reviewing H&S Procedures
  • Logging incident and hazard reports
  • Conducting H&S Inductions for new employees and contractors
  • Attend H&S Forums
  • Support H&S Manger during external audits
  • Carry out onsite coaching of frontline staff under direction of H&S Manager
  • Upon completion of training, support operational staff in the compilation of risk assessment documents
  • Follow up on incident actions and promote the closure of actions in a timely manner
  • Assist in the assessment of safe machinery use and work closely with the engineering department
  • Maintains a solution focused approach when challenging unsafe behaviours and conditions
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous Health and Safety related experience is preferred
  • NEBOSH certification is preferred, but not essential
  • Attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to utilise a range of IT applications, including MS office, MS Teams
  • Demonstrable aptitude to learn new health and safety software systems
  • Ability to engage positively with front line employees to influence positive behaviour
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
