Hinkley Point C

Do you have a professional qualification in Project Management, like APM PMQ or another recognised certification? Are you experienced in developing engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies for project delivery? Do you have extensive experience in managing engineering and construction activities?

If so, come and join EDF as a Project Manager!

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager for the supply, transport, installation, and testing of key equipment supporting nuclear operations, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing the installation of essential components, including the reactor pressure vessel, steam generators, coolant pumps, and pressuriser.

You’ll join a highly skilled team of professional project managers, ensuring that installations are completed on time and meet the stringent quality requirements essential to nuclear operations.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with a diverse, multicultural team of contractors, building strong relationships to drive project success. Your leadership will be key to ensuring that all activities are delivered safely, to the highest standards, and within the specified time and budget.

You'll also navigate the broader impacts of the programme on the overall project, ensuring alignment with safety and quality objectives.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe, playing a vital role in the country’s future energy needs.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a salary from £57,000 to £67,000, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort.

No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you will define the scope of work for contracts and how they fit into the overall programme. You’ll develop and implement strategies and plans aligned with the programme execution plan (PEP), detailing how the work will be managed and executed.

You’ll maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that project strategies are followed and that contract activities are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting business and technical requirements.

You’ll monitor progress, track milestones, deadlines, and budgets, and provide regular reports to key stakeholders. You will address and resolve issues within the contract or package, manage risks, update the programme budget, and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager as needed.

You’ll ensure that lessons learned, and knowledge capture are part of everyday practice and establish strong working relationships with all project team members.

Who you are

As a Project Manager at EDF, you'll need a Project Management qualification like APM PMQ. You should have experience in managing engineering and construction projects, especially in regulated environments like Nuclear Energy.

You’ll handle major project elements from start to finish, including engineering design, contract management, and execution. Experience with multi-discipline EPCM projects, complex contract procurement, and controlling costs and schedules is crucial.

Your role will involve managing commercial claims, negotiating with stakeholders, and applying knowledge of CDM Regulations and nuclear quality assurance. Experience with NEC and FIDIC arrangements and knowledge of French are beneficial.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 8th October 2024

Success is personal. It’s your journey, powered by us. Join us and we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero, together.
