Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant
In your role as a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial part in supporting various financial accounting tasks. You will assist with the preparation and filing of Statutory Financial Statements, Corporation tax returns, and VAT returns.You will have the chance to engage in Month End Close and Year End Close tasks. Moreover, you will perform specific tasks within the wider group of companies as necessary.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
- Liaise with external auditors and support the audit process.
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT returns and corporation tax filings.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to drive strategic decisions.
- Monitor and improve internal controls and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
- Comprehensive understanding of corporation tax, statutory accounting, and VAT
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to elucidate complex financial matters clearly
