  • Exciting opportunity at highly-equipped, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital in Cambridgeshire
  • Career progression opportunities, including CPD allowance and certificate support
  • Enhanced sickness pay and equal family leave
  • 42 hours over 4 days (8:30am - 7pm) with regular day off

Purovets have a fantastic opportunity for a hospital-based Veterinary Surgeon to join a 24/7 hospital in Cambridgeshire. It is one of the very few practices in Cambridgeshire accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a Tier 3 Hospital.

This dynamic and exciting role will include consulting, surgery and hospital days, working closely with the existing team, including the OOH team, to provide around-the-clock care of an outstanding standard for a primary care practice.

The hospital runs at very high standards of care, as well as being well-equipped to maintain these high standards. They provide OOH support for around 20 local practices. The case load and capability is outstanding for a primary care practice.

They have medicine and ECC certificate holders, and a reputation for excellent diagnostic imaging. They are well equipped to perform routine and ECC surgery, having also established a laparoscopic spay service over the last year or so. They have vets working towards surgery and cardiology certificates and work very much on an evidence-based, continuing learning approach as a team.

The standard full-time rota is 42 hours over 4 days from 8:30am - 7pm, with a regular day off. You will also work 1 in 4 weekends with an additional day off the week before and after; this allows for two 3 day weeks and two 4 days weeks in a 4 week cycle.

This role would find you working closely with this excellent team and provide a supportive and safe environment to develop your area of interest in companion animal medicine and surgery, and would suit a veterinary surgeon with a minimum of two years' experience.

They believe in supporting and investing in their staff and facilities, ensuring that their clients receive only the very best primary or specialist care. Their staff are motivated and encouraged to gain additional certifications across all levels of employment and they offer great career progression opportunities.

Role:

  • Salary up to £68,000 DOE
  • 42 hours over 4 days (8:30am - 7pm) with regular day off
